Vocalist, drummer and storyteller Avram Patt grew up in a Yiddish-speaking household. He has held several positions in the public transportation and human services fields including Assistant to the Social Welfare Commissioner. He chaired the Plainfield Board of Selectmen for six years and is presently the manager of a local electric utility co-op. He has performed and toured one-man shows and with the Bread and Puppet Theater. Steven Light (on trumpet, recorder and string bass) has played and taught music from an early age. He has an MFA in Early Music Performance and is the Director of the Fyre and Lightning Consort which performs medieval, Renaissance and traditional music including songs of the Sephardic Jews. He taught music in a Vermont High School, teaches music at Johnson State College and is the former Director of the Dartmouth Early Music Ensemble. Kathy Munson Light (on clarinet, harp and recorder) is a founding member of the Fyre and Lightning Consort, sings in several area choruses, has played clarinet and bass clarinet in the Bach Wind Philharmonia and taught music in a Vermont High School. Rick Winston (on accordion and piano) was responsible for bringing the band together! He has been active in the central Vermont traditional music community for over 20 years. He has performed solo piano recitals of the music of Scott Joplin and Eric Satie throughout Vermont and California and is the founder and former owner of the Savoy Theater in Montpelier, Vermont.
